Joe Negron Endorses Rooney

(Stuart, FL) – Former state Representative and Congressional candidate Joe Negron has endorsed Tom Rooney in the race for Florida’s 16th Congressional District.

“I believe you represent the best opportunity for this community to complete the mission we began together nearly two years ago, said Joe Negron in a letter to the campaign. “I will be personally asking my several thousand friends, supporters and contributors in all eight counties to now join your team in what will be a nationally significant race. I believe you have solid conservative instincts and in Congress would be willing to stand steadfastly for your principles, even if that meant respectfully disagreeing with your Party from time to time.”

Joe Negron served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2000 to 2006. During his time in the state legislature Joe was the Chairman of the House Appropriations Committee. Joe was also a Congressional candidate in the 2006 race for the 16th District.

“I am extremely honored to have the endorsement of Joe Negron in my effort to defeat Tim Mahoney,” said Tom Rooney. “For years Joe has been a great leader in our community and a tremendous advocate for the people of South Florida. I am looking forward to Joe’s counsel and support as we get closer to victory in August and November.”

Tom Rooney served as a Captain in the U.S. Army as a JAG Officer, taught Constitutional and Military Law at the United States Military Academy at West Point, was the CEO of Home Safe, a Palm Beach shelter for abused children, and is running for the 16th Congressional District of Florida.
